Member of Association of International Marathons and Road Races AIMS since 2006

Spending a bright summer's night in the Arctic offers you an unforgettable experience in sporting activities.

Next Santa Claus Marathon is on June 28th 2008

On 28th of June 2008 SantaClausMarathon's full and half marathons, as well as a 12 km run and walk, will be taking place on the Arctic Circle. The event is organised by an association, which includes members from the athletic club Lapin Lukko.
You don't need to be a top class or competition athlete to take part in this event. All we ask is of you is for you to have the will and desire to take part in the exercise. Every one is very welcome - power walkers with walking poles... every activity is possible. However, if you would like a challenge or are an experienced marathon runner, you would have an opportunity to take part in either the full or half marathon. No matter which choice your prefer, a summer's evening and night in Lapland offers you an enchanting environment for exercise and gives a chance for the whole family to enjoy activities together.

The atmosphere will be filled with jolliness and action during the afternoon at Santa Claus's Workshop, which will be the starting point.

You will be able to start off from 6pm to 8pm onwards at the front of Santa Claus's Office and then cross the Arctic Circle (66'32'35") with Santa himself watching you start on your way. Photographs of the start and the crossing of the Arctic Circle (which earns you a Diploma of Arctic Circle Crossing) are for you to keep for posterity.

Your journey will eventually come to an end at the Lordi Square, at the centre of Rovaniemi town.

A WARM WELCOME
